I have a Creative X-Fi Xtreme Audio in PCI-E and I'm trying to make it
work with the snd-hda-intel module compiled from my kernel
(2.6.31-gentoo-r2).
I made tests with mplayer and whenever I want to play a sound, the sound
just don't come out. Mplayer stays at 0:00 until I quit it (no need

I don't know whether this will be of any help 'cause you may have received it a
hundred times. Looking for some other reasons to the user log-in log file, I
found the following:

So I tried to load snd-hda-intel without and with this different
option. But they don't work.
Any idea to make this integrated sound card work ?

have all channels on alsamixer.
Note that stock kernel 2.6.25 is shiped with xen feature (I don't know
why) which is problematic to install nvidia from nvidia.com (must
recompil the kernel).
