There is another option, cheaper than Xonar DX. Creative has relaeased
PCI Express version of Xtreme Audio, which isn't based on X-Fi chip
but on CA0110. There is some support in Takashi's sound-unstable tree.
I'm not sure how well it works (let alone in regard to SPDIF support),

When using my usb headset's volume control device the main soundcard
mixer is changed. Which is logical as I've configured my window manager
(openbox) to capture multimedia key input and translate it to "amixer"
commands targeted towards the primary mixer.

I've a Nvidia sound card and it uses codec Conexant CX20561 (Hermosa), the
problem is too much noise I can't hear nothing and I don't know what to do, I
use alsa driver 1.0.17 with kernel 2.6.26.2 so I'll really appreciate if

Different boards can use different mixers.
The identification of your mixer as a C-Media Electronics CMI9761A+
could be wrong, in which case all kinds of things would go wrong in using
