Hi.
I had been happily using the following .asoundrc and was able to get Alsa to
work with Dmix and have the output go out my spdif port to my amp. For some
reason it doesn't want to see to work anymore. When I use any application
and tell it use my device ossmix I see the alsa-dmix IPC file
Hi *
Has anybody successfully configured alsa 1.0.13 on debian (KnoppMyth r5f1) to
pass-through AC3 on nforce4 hw ?
My mobo is Foxconn K8MA-8EKRS (nforce4 based).
I successfully managed to play mythtv, mythmusic & mplayer with stereo AVIs.
Problem is with AVI with AC3 sound (passthrough).

Dear alsa-user list members,
I have a problem playing anything with alsa from alsa-lib version 1.0.14rc4
and upwards. I compiled all versions myself (./configure && make && make
install). Before installing a new version I used "make uninstall" to remove
the old one. With alsa-lib version 1.0.14
Hi!
I have tried this Java app http://www.cs.hmc.edu/~keller/jazz/improvisor/
with Sun's jdk 5 and 6, and have tried to find app's MIDI ports on qjackctl's
MIDI tab, but without success. 'hdsp' alsa driver is in use for RME HDSP9632,
and the card's MIDI ports are visible. Tha app's preferences dia
I am getting the following error when using arecord.
I am running 2.6.18-8 from centos 5.
Everything else is working fine just NOT arecord.
What shall I try?

Hi,
We have a Musix's user (Suso Comesaña <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>) that says that his
M-Audio Delta 1010L does not capture using the 2.6.21 kernel from Musix
(ftp://musix.ourproject.org/pub/musix/deb/kernel), but it does capture using
the 2.6.17-2-multimedia...
Some ideas?

Well, I didn't get any responces so I'll answer part of the question myself.
I found this easy to follow install how to:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HdaIntelSoundHowto
But I have yet to hear a response to the Uninstall part of the question.
Anybody have an answer to this? Does alsa install
Don't take in mind - LAU list helped: snd_virmidi ALSA kernel module was needed.

Hello, it's me again...
OK, I guess you're saying I should concentrate on the opl3sa2 driver. I
have now blacklisted snd-nm256.
I have tried very carefully to set all the options correctly for opl3sa2,
but it still doesn't work. I am using the latest alsa package, 1.0.14rc4.
Symptoms are:

Hi,
I m using ALSA lib 1.0.11. And I m facing one problem with ALSA - Full

This application works fine in the normal load. However if we increase the
system load with some heavily loaded application, a considerable delay can
be observed in between triggers for "SNDRV_PCM_TRIGG
Hi,
I've got a big problem my sound card support under SuSE 7.3.
My application run only SuSE 7.3. I had to change the hardware.
Now the motherboard is Intel 820 chipset with ICH sound support.
The default (in SuSE 7.3) ALSA doesn't support (or recognise?)
the newer Intel chipset and of course d
