Hi,
I have an SBLive! sound card, and I use the emu10k1
module from alsa-driver-1.0.14_rc2_p3234.
I've noticed that when I record with my mic, I get
playback from my speakers, and that I can't control
this feedback.
In playback section, I have:
Mic Select [Mic1]
Line [dB gain=-34.50, -34.50] [Mu
Doesn't the RME HDSP range support hardware mixing? I don't know how well this
is supported in linux. They would provide everything except your points 3 and
7.

Johan

Dear all,
Hello to everyone as this is my first email to the list. I would start with
some background to the problem first.

Hi!
The thread on the mailing list may have been my one. Anyway, I had the
same problem and I still didn't get dmix and multi plugins to work together.
Now, about your problem: I'm not sure whether I really understand it.
What you want to do is record stuff with one sound card while playing
other

Hi Chaps,
Thanks to some great input from Karsten and Rui I now have an
apparently fully working US-428 on my desk. This is currently using a
gentoo 2.6.20 kernel on AMD64.
The problems:

settings in /etc/modules.d/alsa, particularl
Hi!
I just installed the Linux-kerlen version 2.6.20 with built-in alsa
1.0.14rc1. But now I have the problem, that alsa doesn't knwo my ipga analog
volume anymore. This happened once before with 0.9.4 something. I also
installed the correct alsalib/utils/tools.
Even the asound.state doesn't

I just installed Ubuntu on this machine and there is no sound whatsoever.
I followed directions on several websites to find the problem: checked
user/groups, killed esd, checked for sound being muted... and so on.
The proper ALSA driver module is in my system, however when I type
modprobe
Try:-
sudo modprobe snd-atiixp

greetings;
In trying to get kaffiene to play a .wmv, I ripped out all the livna stuff
today and tried to replace it with stuff from dries or atrpms.
But no matter how I approach the alsalibs update, it absolutely has to

No, snd-hda-intel is the correct driver for this device. The ALSA
version in Ubuntu is probably too old to support it.
Does it work with ALSA 1.0.14-rc2?

Any more views on this? Can it have something to do with that the
soundcard is not supporting hardware mixing? We're going to install a
couple of new Creative Audigy SE cards (+ disabling the motherboard
sound via BIOS) to see if this makes any more difference?

Ya, I checked it and it is indeed yours.

Hi,
I have a Intel DG965 WHMKR motherboard with integrated sound, reported by
lspci as:
Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 02)
Using the Alsa snd-hda-intel driver it kinda works, one of the lines out works
(green one) but the other two ones (surround I think, blac
