I have a problem with my Sound Blaster Live! Value, but it's not to playback
sound; it's for capturing it instead.
With the Gnome Volume Control and alsamixer, I tried several times to set
which channel I want to be capture, while also setting the "capture" toggle

You need to set capture flag on "Capture" and on "Mic" too. You need to
set "AC97 Capture" volume too (use alsamixer, hit F4 and set "AC97"
volume).

Well, you're right. I'll surely go to bed less stupid tonight!
Setting the "Capture" flag on "Capture" and "Mic" and setting up the volume
on the capture track of "AC97" made it all work well again.

I've a problem using MIDI IN connector of the Terratec Phase 26 (USB).
I need to use it to connect a non-USB midi keyboard.
