.au files always have big endian format, but arecord doesn't check for

Hello All
If/when I get my Delta 44, how are all the inputs and outputs mapped
into/out of the system? /dev/dsp0 - /dev/dsp7? How exactly does this work?
Does the driver for these cards provide any routing capabilities between
the inputs and outputs?
Any info appreciated.
Thanks - JB

Hallo,
I'd like to test a M-Audio Quattro interface in a shop before buying.
For this, I want to do as much setup in advance on my notebook as
possible. ALSA is already configured for snd-usb-audio, but does the
Quattro's midi part need a firmware like the Midisport interfaces?
I downloaded the
Hi,
I have a Delta 410 and the (8) analog outputs are mapped in stereo to dsp0,
dsp1, dsp2 and dsp3. I don't know if the digital output works.
Alsa comes with a mixer/routing tool called envy24control which (I believe)
can make the routings you mention (I have not tried though). The tool is

Rc7 is buggy. Try rc6 or a CVS snapshot.

Emil,
use the most current CVS and use the thinkpad option. I'm not sure what it

There are no messages in /var/log/messages. There were also no

Hi,
Has anyone tried to use the coaxial S/PDIF in on the "Trust Sound Expert Optical"
sound card? (I am _not_ talking about the s/pdif CD connector). If so, was it
successfull or not?
The input does not seem to work for me, not even in loop back mode. The optical input

I don't know, if this might resolve any problem. But wouldn't it be wise, to
install the modules first and then the libs and the rest afterwards? I just
think so, because the modules are the basis for the rest. thus if installing

Hello,
I'm trying to get sound capture to work. The only alsa drivers & libs that
