I had installed alsa-driver-0.9.0beta3 successfully and was happily
playing some music with mpg123.
After a reboot and some modifications to make XMMS work with the driver
(it wasn't producing sound), mpg123 stopped working properly. It is

alsa-lib-0.9.0beta12.tar.bz2
alsa-utils-0.9.0beta12.tar.bz2
I decompressed in /home/src/
bzip2 -d alsa*.tar.bz2
tar -xvf alsa*.tar
Then compiled
cd alsa-driver-*
su -
./configure --with-car

I hope someone of you folks can help me in this issue... I have a K7
duron with MB using the SiS735 chipset. Audio chipset is SiS 7012. I

Thanx, I did run the alsactl reload and I glad you know what the problem
is. I'd love the patch and an explanation. If not for me then for the
record, for others who may experience this as well.

Ok, this mornings snapshot restores the sound again :-)
RTCW in single-player still hangs when initialising sound.
If I run strace on the pid I see it is trying to access /dev/dsp.
