Hello,
I downloaded the 0.5.12 driver, and installed as said on
http://dice.shopcenter.nu/alsa/alsa_0_4_1_es1938.txt . I also used
alsamixer to increase the volume, but there is no sound.
Any ideas?

I have the same, Solo-1, slack 8, kernel 2.4.16. I hate to ask this, but
did you also unmute? Look for MM at the top of any channels in alsamixer.
Also you might try 0.9.x, I'm using 0.9.0beta10 which works perfectly,
but good luck getting the gameport to function. I've been battling that

I've a Notebook Toshiba Satellite Pro 4600 (PIII 750Mhz) with Slackware 8.0

and "lspci" see the soundcard like an Intel (also if Toshiba says that is a

Hey,
I'm a few days from buying a new computer and pondering

Hi all,
First off, thank you for the ALSA drivers. They worked great when I
had an ALS4000 PCI card in my old system, but my new system is an
older dual processor Dell Precision 610MT system, and it has builtin
sound, which I think is a CS4236B. I'm running a clean install of

Thanks for the reply. It doesn't solve the problem, though. I already had
that variable set. The problem is that in order to remove the modules, the
daemon has to know that the system is about to be put in suspend mode.
The ALSA card modules does something to prevent the APM daemon from
