just a note to everyone interested in running Dr. DAC nano on Linux
and ALSA. I wrote to ESI about this issue and got this answer:

This looks like a bug in your device's firmware.

Still haven't found any solution to this issue.
Is there any chance that this problem is caused by the dot in the name of
the device: "Dr. DAC nano"? None of the other devices I have have dot in
the name, and all they are working with no problems on ALSA.
