Please tell me why the sound test for Extigy works but the music still plays
through the onboard sound!
Dell Optiplex running Ubuntu 2.6, trying to play mp3 thru Creative Extigy!!

I followed the instructions at http://exaudio.sourceforge.net/k26.html and
it all seemed to work apart from ./load.sh and no sound!:
r...@thundercat1:/usr/src/alsa/Alsa/exaudio-1.68# insmod ./exaudio_remote.ko

I have been having problems as linux recognises the soundcard but plays it

High Quality Requirements
You could try unloading the ALSA modules and then plugging in the
Extigy. That's the only way my Audiophile USB will work.
