In your .asoundrc or /etc/asound.conf, you have redefined the "default"
device to something without automatic sample format conversion.
Make sure you have the "plug" plugin at the top level.

Hi I was hoping someone here may be able to help. Im having a problem
getting my sound sorted. I have written a post here

config and some stuff i tried. the main error im getting is
aplay /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav
