I recently installed Ubuntu 20.04 on my computer, to replace 18.04 on
another partition. Both systems are still bootable, and they share a
/home folder on another partition.
For some reason, headphones plugged into the front of my computer do
not show up in 20.04, although they work fine in 18.04

Also, I thought I would mention that just recently I loaded the pkspkr
module. I thought maybe it would do something. I read about it being
taken out, so I gave it a shot. I'm not sure if it's loaded naturally by
default.

Hi all,
I just read through the alsa-cvslog list (see below) and found that the D/Port
appears to work now. I have Alsa (1.0.14 I think) in Gutsy Gibbon running on
my Dell D820, but I'm not sure how or what changes I need to apply in order to
make my d/port headphone jack work. Do I need to

So I need help. Not with installation. I have ubuntu 7.04 installed and Alsa
comes preinstalled and it works ok. Except I have one glitch that I havent
been able to fix for months. I get terrible sound through headphones. At
