Thanks very much to all for your help. Basically, it works again. The
bluetooth dongle is to blame, that one even kills an ordinary USB Stick. I
used Kernel 3.0.8 and 3.1.5, never 3.1.3.
I was under the impression I'd have one option per card, now with one
option per module the assignment works ag

It's even worse. The Busses are not connected to a specific Port. Now I
have the card connected uniquely to one of my two USB3 ports.
$ lsusb
