- sound in windows works (using SoundMax drivers shipped with laptop)
- sound in Linux:
I'm using alsa drivers (snd-card-intel8x0) and they load succesfully
on irq 9 (shared irq between almost
BTW: alsa sound is not working in my linux box on VAIO GR7/K
I think it some IRQ sharing problem...

I have the same notebook japanese version (GR7/K).
the sound chip is an AD1881A (try alsa... ).
I cannot get clear sounds but the chip and the card are recognized
correctly, IRQ number is correct (#9).
did you succesfully installed linux with all working devices ? I'm having

I own a Sony PCG-GR114MK-Notebook. Sony says that there is no way to get
sound in windows.
I wrote them an email about that, but they didnt answer.
They even dont tell which sound-chip is in this notebook.
Does anyone know if there are plans to support this notebook-soundcard in the
future?
