Thanks.
The board runs on Alsa 1.0.25 and a 3.4 kernel with the old endpoint
streaming model,
I'll try to bring it up with the current release.

Please try the patch below.

Thanks, appreciate that.
I was thinking EEPROM, but I guess some cards also have RAM which has to be
initialized on every power cycle.
As far as x86 goes,I tried Ubuntu 10.10/1.0.23 and it worked like stated
on the vendor matrix page, but only with a live disk -

I suspect that the DMA of the frequency feedback data is not handled correctly.
I'll see if I can create a patch this weekend ...

I installed the old windows EMUU_PCAppDrvFw_L6_1_30_07 which updates (in
this case reverted to an older version) the firmware on the card.
The distortion characteristics on arm changed slightly, which points to a
firmware issue.
Honestly, I'm a bit at a loss as to why for certain cards there's firm
Odd, the VU meter is animating, but no sound. A few times, aplay freezed
after 1-2 seconds. Arecord also doesn't work.

Pretty much impossible.

So what happens?
It might be possi
Yes, see log.
Trying to ddx on the sunxi side, judging from the test soundfile and given
the fact that recording works, how likely is it that this is a power supply
issue (I tried 2 adapters, no noticeable difference in distortion).

Does it show up in /pro
No luck with that. I assume in VMware VM > Removable Devices > Emu 0202 >
Connect is direct USB passthrough.
After uninstalling the windows drivers the card doesn't show up in the
Ubuntu System Settings > Sound anymore
but can still be seen by lsusb.

Did you uninstall the Emu Windows driver, and tell the VM to allow Linux
to access the Emu USB device directly?

On my Ubuntu 14.4 VM Alsa works with the onboard SC. Unless routed through
the windows mixer, no sound though from the emu, it fails silently. I also
checked the alsamixer levels.

But Windows doesn't run on sunxi hardware, does it?
Does it run with Linux on x86?

Does the 0202 work with other hardware?

That is wrong. The emu10k1 dri
Hi,
I have an E-mu 0202 with distorted playback under the default snd_usb_audio
module on a sunxi kernel.
I've posted over at their list (
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/linux-sunxi/nIHO4PoY0ZQ).
So far no reply.
According to the old instructions you have to specify --with-cards=emu10k1
