When I try 'amixer contents' (with sound modules loaded) I get error message ALSA lib control.c:909 Invalid CTL default control default open error Can anybody tell me what this means and how I can track down the problem? I've had a look in /proc/asound and everything looks plausible. Furthermor

Hello I have sound card ESS Solo - 1 Audiodrive,alsa 0.9rc1, kernel 2.4.18. Any alsa program output the following: # alsamixer ALSA lib control.c:601:(snd_ctl_open_noupdate) Invalid CTL default alsamixer: function snd_ctl_open failed for default: No such file or directory If I specify a card
