Well my distro is Slackware so the structure of rc.d/ is not exactly the

the problem was (is). I grabbed the latest version, compiled and
installed and all is now working. I suspect one of two:
1. The version which comes with Mandrake 9.0 is not good.
2. The debugging links are bad. I complile

Just installed a Creative Soundblaster PCI 16 using the ensonic 1371
driver. BTW, linuxconf says this is a CT5880.
I'm having some problems... it could be due to the fact that I have
removed an older GUS card from the machine. Could it be that there are
old init files hanging around? Anyway, h
