If I recall, the Extigy uses that driver, so you need to either compile
it into the kernel or as a module.
If you want to compile it as a module, which is what I do, set it like
this:
CONFIG_SND_EMU10K1

I am just using a vanilla source tree, and the default ALSA code that comes
