It does. AFAIK, alsa just sees it as a usb audio device. I have a plug set
up in .asoundrc so that Skype plays nicely with the headset w
Make it easy. Just turn up the volume of your speakers for these occasions. Or
just switch them off, when you don't need them.

is great, but sometimes I want to put it on speaker, like when I'm on hold
at my bank for a long time.
I don't need to switch the mic, just the speakers. Then I can put my headset
down for a while and get on with
