Currently I'm running alsa driver 1.0.12 with kernel 2.6.16.27.
This afternoon I tried to use kernel 2.6.16.29. I used 'make
oldconfig' with the config of kernel 2.6.16.27.
That made alsa complain that /dev/dsp could not be found.
But it *does* exist: /dev/dsp -> sound/dsp, permi
