aha, so is there a way to change things so that I don't have several other bits of
hardware using the same irq as usb? BIOS only lets me change the
Hello,
the inputs from my quattro are noisy and distorted. Sometimes the levels are very
low, and sometimes they are overdriven. They always have some kind of
digitizing-sounding noise. I have tried several versions of hotplug and alsa
including cvs, with the quattro .asoundrc from Patrick Sh

How do I change the capture rate of the extigy?
So far it is stuck at 8000Hz, and if I try different rates with arecord,
the correct number of samples are taken for the requested rate, but over a different
period, eg. if I try to record 5 seconds at 48000, it takes 30 seconds, at 8000Hz. Am

since changing from alsa 0.5 to 0.9, the alsa-libs/test/rawmidi test program fails
every time!
pmidi will play directly to a port (eg. emu10k1 or aseqview) , but I can't get any
aconnect'ed virmidi ports to work.
aconnect doesn't report any problem.
does anyone know about this problem?
