Hi Lenson,
Make sure you are sending on the same MIDI channel that your kurzweil is set to
receive. You may be able to set the Kurzweil to receive on OMNI (which means all
channels). Each MIDI device is different so I can't tell you how to do this for
your device.
I hope this doesn't sound like
No I was thinking something more like a Behringer MIC 100

The PMD 560 would negate the need for an PC based system with linux and ALSA..
but probably still requires something like the MIC-100 in before it.

If you are already spending the money on a "good" microphone, I would recommend
budgeting in a hardware compressor limiter or limiting pre-amp (you can't plug a
mic directly into the PC anyway so the limiting pre-amp is probably cheaper)

Hi All
I'm looking to move over to a device that I can use with both my linux desktop
and a 2nd hand powerbook i bought recently. I have been more focussed on FFADO
compatible as from what I understand I am more likely to get latency issues on a
USB device...
However, I have been using my M-Aud
There will always be some latency between mic input and speaker output when
monitoring via the system, regardless of OS driver or subsystem..
You are also very likely to get feedback issues in this scenario.

Hi All
A few months back I posted a question about issues with MIDI clock and emagic
Unitor and AMT 8 devices.
I finally worked it out, but thought I would post so there is a reference if
anyone else comes across this issue.
The resolution is simple.
The port that is receiving the MIDI

Hi All
Firstly thanks to all the people who responded last time.
I have tried the simpler methods (modprobe.conf) without success as 2 of my
devices have the same vendor ID and product ID even though they are different
models. (emagic AMT8 and emagic Unitor 8 mk II).
So it looks like I
Hi All
I am having problems getting my M-Audio delta 1010 to be my default device. I
have tried numerous iterations of asound.conf.
Can someone send an example through?

Hi,
I have multiple USB devices and one PCI device and would like to ensure the order
of the devices is set.
I understand this is possible but requires some of the hardware detail.
Does someone have an example they can send through?

Are you sure the optical output functions as ADAT, and not as Dolby Digital or DTS multichannel output?
There is a big difference and I can't see where ADAT would be used in HTPC.. ADAT is primarily used for professional multitrack audio and is common on mid to high end audio devices (like RME a
Hey
I have the same problem but with multiple MIDI devices that use snd-usb-audio (evolution uc-17, bcf-200, amt8), is there a way to set the order with multiple cards that use the same module?
cheers

Hi
I am getting pretty good MIDI timing. I am using 2.6.26-rt (gentoo).. I don't really see any noticeable jitter but then again, of late I have really only been using it for controller information and handling note information on my external sequencer.. However, (when I had a working copy of

Hi All
A quick question of the use of aconnect.
Firstly .. will either of aconnect -t or -r help me make sure MIDI clock is passed from an imput port of my AMT-8 to another?
Secondly, the output specifies ...
-r,--real # convert real-time-stamp on queue
-t,--tick # convert t
I haven't seen a Benchmark in Australia so have no idea.. But for a good cheap reliable USB soundcard I have found the Behringer UCA-202 is fine.. Again I don't know if it does internal re-sampling so can't answer the bit perfect question here...

I'll answer what I can.
1. Not sure of your question.. here so I'll leave this along
2. This is hardware dependant.. many/most onboard digital outputs are fixed at 16 bit 48 khz devices like the M-Audio delta series are flexible and can be set via software application (i.e. envy24control).
Hi Carma
I am at work at the moment, but have one of these devices as a backup.
Can you send through the output of aplay -l and aplay -L to see what's happening.
cheers
