I do not have a /dev/midi0 in my /dev folder (I think mdk 10.0 community I
am using uses devfs), but even if I created a sym-link to /dev/midi00 which
does exist, it still failed.
Any ideas?

i586 or K8 chips exhibits in both cases the same symptom. OS is Mdk 10.0
(community with all the patches that should bring it up to par with the
official release, at least I think so).
Any ideas?

ve come up with this new theme titled "Borealis." It is available for
immediate download on the KDE-look website:
http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=12584
An .ogg preview of the start-up sound can be found here:

Any commen
d (although I am not sure whether this is linked to a
particular alsa driver version or the preempt stuff).
With preemptive flag disabled, everything seems to be ok.
Best wishes,

via82xx and snd-via82xx or simply rename the card to snd-via82xx? If
I need to rename it, how come that it works even without snd- prefix (except
for the dxs option)?
Thank you very much for your help!

Even with all this the syslog still complains:
via82xx: Assuming DXS channels with 48k fixed
sample rate.
Please try dxs_support=1 or
dxs_support=4 option
and report if it works on your machine.
What am I doing wrong?

ithout any apparent errors but when
trying to connect to it using for instance jack_metro it says "is jack running?" or
something similar. Now, when I do the same as a root, it works like a charm. Any ideas
why is this?
Any help on these issues would be greatly appreciated
ortion. It
is conceivable that the fix could be achieved by simply passing some flags
in the pcmcia config (/etc/sysconfig/pcmcia), but as to which, I don't have
the faintest clue :-(.

Oops, misspelled the cardbus name, it's ENE CB1410 (not C1410).

I would also appreciate any help from the RME tech department as this may
potentially stem from the fact that the system is 64-bit (although I am NOT
running 64-bit versions of either Windows or Linux) and that the drivers are
somehow not taking that into account.
Best wishes,
