Hi,
My soundcard has 6 channels, but i am only getting 1 (1 pcm). Is it possible
to enable the other 5?
I am using 2.6.0-bk3 kernel and alsa-drivers, alsa-utils, alsa-libs version
1.0-rc2.
The soundcard is supported by the snd_intel8x0 module (is analog device
AD1980)
Thank you,
Vasilis

Ok, I patched the kernel with the patch-2.6.0-bk3 patch.
Now the first four lines of Makefie read:
VERSION = 2
PATCHLEVEL = 6
SUBLEVEL = 0
EXTRAVERSION = -bk3
(There is a space between = and -bk3, does this matter? Is this why I do not
have /lib/module/2.6.0-bk3?)
Then I run:
patch --dry-run -p1
Do you have to patch the kernel with the path-2.6.0-bk patch?

Hi,
I first patched the kernel by using the patch from www.kernel.org
http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.6/snapshots/old/patch-2.6.0-bk3.gz
and then I tried to patch the kernel by using the patch from ALSA's ftp s
ftp://ftp.alsa-project.org/pub/kernel-patches/alsa-bk-2003-12-30.patch.gz
How did you manage to have 6 channels?
I have only one (one PCM) when I should have six
When I run alsamixer, I see Master, Master mono, PCM, surround (which is off)
and many other.
How can I turn surround on and how can I make kmix to show the above?
Thank you,
Vasilis

Hi,
I installed the 2.6 kernel and I compiled as module the alsa drivers. I also
installed the alsa uitls and alsa libs, version 0.98. I found out that the
drivers that come with the kernel are pretty old, version 0.97.
How can I use the newest alsa drivers?
My soundcard is supported with the
