If I try and select the ALSA output plugin from XMMS I get the "audio device is in
use" message.
I have a Delta 1010 and am using the ICE17xx driver.
I have tried disabling artsd and using other Windowmanagers but it has the same
troubles with all of them.
This worked fine with SuSE 8.2.
I'm running SuSE 8.1 and I am having problems with ticks and pops on a Delta 1010 with
Alsa RC3 especially under kde.
If I use aRts it works fine.
OSS or Alsa output with xmms produces clicks and ticks.
Alsaplayer won't even run with the alsa output selected even though it is in the

To solve the problem I went back to the basics and set
everything back
I have a Delta 66 in an Abit BH6 board that gets ticks and
pops when playing mp3's and doing anything video like
dragging a window around or even selecting a message in
knews. Even having gaim pop up a message, no sound on,
may cause a tick or pop or stutter.
