Hi people,
I have alsa 1.0.0rc2, my problem is,that when I play video or audio
file with mplayer, at first mplayer writes, that he can't open audio
device /dev/dsp and then after 1 min it starts to play.The same is
with timidity, it starts playing after aproximately 40-60 sec.

I have Siemens-Fujitsu lifebook E7110, sound Intel 82801CA-ICH3,
alsa 1.0.0.rc2, Redhat9. I have perfect sound, but If I play midi
with pmidi I don't hear any sound. Probably I need synth
device,because is not enabled, but how shell I enable it? Also I
don't have any midi device

I have sound chipset intel ICH3, I have installed ALSA acording to
documentation for intel i820 and I can play sounds, but I can't see
any MIDI device in Kmid player,so I can't play midi and all alsa
utils do not works, why?. I do not have /dev/snd/. (I have fujitsu-
siemens LIFEBOOK E serie
