I am looking for a MIDI-Interface for Laptops. The basic way is an serial
interface with the snd-serial module. Has someone experiences?

I want to use the 8-pin mini-din connector with the snd-serial module. Does
it work? Which cable does it need (is it a Mac-Modem cable?)?

I've changed ALSA from 0.9.0beta12 to 0.9.0rc1. Now there are
unresoved symbols with snd:
... # modprobe snd
/lib/modules/2.4.0/kernel/sound/acore/snd.o: unresolved symbol
