after the last update of Ubuntu (intrepid to jaunty) on my Lenovo
Ideapad my microphone input doesn't work anymore (neither internal nor
external). I found out that alsamixer lacks quite a lot of controls in
the newer kernel/module. Some of the controls now unavailable were
crucial

thanks for asking. The Multifaces are powered. I even tried with
higher voltages to make sure that this doesn't cause problems.

on my new Dell Precision M4400 (64bit dual core) with Ubuntu
intrepid, hdsploader won't download the firmware to the Multiface. The
pcmcia card is recognized on insertion and the snd-hdsp module
loaded. I tried with two different Multifaces and two different PCMCIA
Cards. The firmware loads f
