Hi Bil
Hi Chaps,
Thanks to some great input from Karsten and Rui I now have an
apparently fully working US-428 on my desk. This is currently using a
gentoo 2.6.20 kernel on AMD64.
The problems:

Hi,
Despite various hints on the web to the contrary, it seems my researches
cannot come up with any way of getting my Tascam-428 USB unit to use
all four inputs under jack simultaneously (despite use of the hw:1,2
rawusb device). Before I keep slogging on I have a general question to
see if it is

I recently asked this but it appears there is currently no support for
the US-122L or the US-14

Hi Michael,
The two sets of inputs seem to be two separate devices for ALSA's

Hi Chaps,
As far as I know, fxload is still required to initialise certain USB
cards, particularly the Tascam range using the usx2y driver.
Unfortunately, fxload seems to be currently unmaintained and no longer
compiles against linux-headers-2.6.19 which will eventually become
stable - as the new
Hi,
My new US-428 is proving much more difficult to get working than my
US-122 for some reason. After a few seconds of alsa playback (via
audacious for example) the sounds drops out and errors appear in dmesg
along the lines of:
Sequence Error!(hcd_frame=7 ep=8in;wait=65539,frame=3).

Hi,
I'm not sure if this is the best place to ask this question, but
hopefully if it isn't someone can give me a steer.
I currently use a Tascam US-122 USB device with ALSA quite successfully
under the usx2y driver. Unfortunately, I was hoping to upgrade to one
of Tascam's new USB2 devices (eithe
