I've been having a problem with xmms in kde (I run the demudi version
of alsa 0.9, under debian woody with the demudi low-latency kernel).
xmms stars up fine, but when I try to play an mp3 file (the only kind
of sound file I really have on my computer now, so I can't be entirely
I'm having this problem too -- how do I load the driver?

well, I think I'm getting closde. I couldn't get the cvs source to
build for me, but fofllowing the quick install instructions on the WIKI
I got everything to compi
le. The only problem now is that I can't insert the via8233 module into
the kernel. I get this here as a respo
hough, so I can't say for sure).
Has anyone seen this error before? Do you know how to fix it?

ps -- re:nvidia drivers -- yes, I know they're not free software; but
the video card came with the system, so I did what I had to to make
it work...
