I tried using both pmidi and aplay midi and I get the exact same results. One thing that is weird is that classical midis seem to play fine, or at least better than rock midis. The rock midis play fine in windows, however, using the microsoft synthesizer. Even on the rock midis it seems liek the

I posted earlier about problems with midi and the intel 8x0. I thought the midi device listed was a sequencer, but I guess thats not the case. Is the mpu uart device just for a hardware midi interface? In any case I tried using timidity, but its playback for midis is really strange. I wouldn't

Hi, I'm looking for a small external soundcard that doesn't require external power (but that also doesn't drain my batteries). The other important feature is that it should have hardware mixing (can play multiple streams at once). I currently have an Edirol UA-5 and it doens't seem to have hardw
