Actually, neither the ALSA-drivers nor the kernel-drivers (2.4.16-686)
have the same problem. But when running WIndows I have sound.
So I think it is a more specific prob

I have an onboard soundcard (Yamaha 744) and wanted to make use of it.
The alsaconfig of Debian (Woody) does not recognize it, so I adapted the
default-config.
As I got no sound, I wanted to unmute the channels:
