today i bought that card as well. and got exactly the same output.
you could even try "-C" and it won.t work.
do you want to use it with a dvb-s satellite card? that.s what i.m
planing to do?
i tried it with the cvs version.
normal sound works with me as well. but no direct thruput.

i.m using a winfast cm8738 sound card with digital addon board.
i.d like to use the digital output to pipe ac3 signals from the
dvb-s sat board to my dd receiver.
i downloaded the cvs version of the alsa package. installed every-
thing with "./cvscompile and make install".
