Hello,
I'm running alsa-1.0.4 on kernel 2.4.26 and attempted to record from the mic and tried
the following:
root:~# arecord -d 5 -D hw:0,0 test.wav
Recording WAVE 'test.wav' : Unsigned 8 bit, Rate 8000 Hz, Mono
Warning: rate is not accurate (requested = 8000Hz, got = 48000Hz)
please, tr
Still can't record. I get the following error:
pcm_read:1169 input/output error
Perhaps I'm missing a device file. Where should I check?

Hello,
I've installed alsa-1.0.4 and am trying to record a test message from a
mic. When I enter arecord test.wav, nothing is recorded and an empty wav
file is created consisting of a header and no data.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Chris

This SF.
Hello,
I'm running kernel 2.4.25, alsa 2.0.4 and the via82xx driver and using
using an 8233 onboard sound chip. Playback works fine. Capture produces
continuous popping with no other recoredsound.
Any ideas. Perhaps I'll take a look at the module parameters.
Thanks
Chris
