Since I upgraded my Kernel in redhat, I lost sound.
I believe it is just that after reinstalling the alsa driver,
the levels are muted, but when ever I try to run alsamixer,
I get the following:
% alsamixer
alsamixer: function snd_ctl_open failed for default: No such file or directory

hannels arent muted using alsamixer. They are muted by

xmms. And
set it as my output filter. I tried both Gnome and KDE
sounds apps. No luck.
