Trying to ddx on the sunxi side, judging from the test soundfile and given
the fact that recording works, how likely is it that this is a power supply
issue (I tried 2 adapters, no noticeable difference in distortion).

we use an M-Audio Fast Track USB device to record mono speech.
We face the problem that for mono recordings both input channels of the
device are mixed together. But we want to record only the left channel,
not the mix.
If I try to record mono from the hardware device I get an error:
