Hello, I don't think it's a prblem here, I'm using Fedora now and tried a
lot of Live CDs and none worked. I've reinstalled Fedora on my laptop and
got the same silence.

And if i have two aplay applications playing seperately in two terminals,
how can increase or decrease the volume of individual streams.
if i do "amixer set Master 100" it increases or decreases both streams
volum
Same situation for me on my VGN-AR71S (same sound-hardware AFAIK, no
