I cannot get sound to work on my Medion MD96420 laptop. According to
Vista the card is a Realtek High Definition Audio card. Maker Realtek
Semiconductor Corp.. Driver Version (for Vista) 6.0.1.5523. Two of them
are listed, one at Location 2 (Internal High Definition Audio Bus) and

in /etc/asound.conf defaults.pcm.device was set to 1, here 0 is correct. Now
the sound works but when I replay AC-3 first some trash is replayed, means for
the first 200-300 milliseconds I had an ugly, scatching noise. Is there a way

I have a Creative Audigy 2 Platinum and I can use the headphone at the
lifedrive (the piece that fits into the 5 1/4" slot). However, I cannot

That should be the same like replaying stereo data from xine what is working
well. But I'll test it.
Unfortunately I do not have an AC-3 file to replay it in a similar way without
xine.
