Hello,
Is anyone out there aware of any 3G voice modems which are ALSA compatable ?
It would be nice to be able to use a laptop or computer as a mobile phone.

for sure. Do you have another machine to doublecheck ?
Anyway, in order to increase the buffer size you´d need to touch the ALSA

you get buffer under- and/or overruns if your system has trouble with the
performance required for the current audio settings.
I would recommend to shut down any other process and check whether this buffer
problem remains or increase the buffer size if you have the possibility.
