Hi,
for reasons out of my control we're running a 32-bit ALSA program
on a 64-bit Linux system. Is my assumption true that the ALSA
drivers are 64-bit only then? Is there any performance hit in
this configuration?
We get very bad audio performance with the built-in soundcard on
an IBM/Lenovo T60
Hi,
on our IBM/Lenovo T60 laptop, we want higher audio quality than
the built-in HD-Audio, especially low latency - in the range of 1
millisecond or lower.
Can anyone recommend a PCCard/Cardbus soundcard, or possibly a
USB card supported by alsa and which you've been able to run with
low latency?

Try 1.0.16.
Lee
When I updated my kernel from 2.6.23 to 2.6.24 digital audio output
stopped working. Anyone know what could be causing it? Something must
have changed in ALSA 1.0.15, but what?
In 2.6.23 and earlier kernels I could switch between analog and
digital output by muting or unmuting the "IEC958 Optical
Hi!
I found a solution, but only for my first problem. Both cards are
working with my original 2.6.4 kernel, and alsa 1.0.2.
First I put the cards next to each other to the PCI slots. When the
first problem occurs, (one card worked, but the second behaved a
little bit strange), I removed one card
Thanks the answer.

Yes it should be. But in the last state I removed one of the cards,
cose I tought, may be the same cards causing so
Thanks for your answer.
Yes I removed, or renamed the files that you mentioned...
THX again.

Ok thanks
Now another question: Which chipset is well supported in alsa and have
a good quality (good SNR: my actual sound card is very noisy...).
I see 2 chipset:: irc17244, CMI8788 (or another good chipset if you know one).
Thanks for infos.
