a) if you can see use envy24control, which is - I believe - in the alsa-tools
or alsa-utils package.
b) If you can't see or don't want a graphic mixer, take alsamixer and try f4
or f5 which changes "views". - that m

I have a Dell Latitude D810 with the following soundcard:
00:1e.2 Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corporation
82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW (ICH6 Family) AC’97 Audio Controller (rev 03)
The alsa module is snd_intel8x0.
Until kernel 2.6.21 I had a switch to disable the internal amplifier, so
I am using PClinuxOS 2007 which has libalsa2-1.0.14 and
kernel-2.6.18.6 installed. The card is detected as an ice1724 but the
mixer controls are weird and nothing actually I do actually produces
any sound.

Hi ALL,
Am slightly new to ALSA. We would like to capture Audio output into our
application. Could anyone of you suggest suitable pointers for configurations,
i.e modules needed, system sound card config, drivers.

Hi,
my soundcard is an onboard AC97 CK9804 NVidia. I use snd-intel8x0
module. Everything works fine except recording sound. When calling
arecord -f cd buffer.wav
the program infinitely hangs, and an strace shows that it is the poll()
call that does not return. After interrupting, a wave fi
