Hello,
I have alsa installed and working with my Sound Blaster Live external
USB. I can play ogg's and mp3's and they play perfectly. When I start
a game however, such as RTCW or Doom3, I get no sound at all. Has
anyone experienced this before?
My alsa configuration can be viewed here: http://
I'm trying to get surround sound working on PS3's (w/ alsa under linux).
I'm able to get Stereo through the SPDIF, and my understanding is that I should
be able to pass-through AC3 encoded audio to get surround sound.
Has any one got this to work, or can some-one assert that it can't be done?

calls and it works perfectly;
