I have a Aureon MKII USB soundcard which works great here (Kubuntu Feisty).
(Check the archives, I had some problems at the beginning to get the AC3 pass
through working, but I think I posted the finally working settings)

So I downloaded, compiled and installed alsa-driver, alsa-lib,
alsa-utils, and now /proc/asound/version says:
Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.13.
Compiled on May 16 2007 for kernel 2.6.13-15-smp (SMP).
