I`m searching for some software working as VOX and VOR systems in all
corders, cb radio etc.
Software must start recording when detect speech, music or something on
line-in, and stop if detect silence.
I`m using ALSA form 2.6.20 on Slackware Linux 11.0

Sorry no help. But the same problem here.
Just installed 2.6.20-rt8 with built in alsa and I have lost the IPGA
in envy24control. Previous 2.6.16 kernel with alsa not in kernel was OK.

I've got a VIA 8235 running alinux kernel 2.6.16.13-4, with
alsa Version 1.0.11rc3
It's giving me trouble recording. Either it is much to loud or much to low,
