'alias snd-card-3 snd-mpu401'
just before:
'options snd-mpu401 enable=1 port=0x330 irq=5'
I've also altered the line that said:
'options snd major=116 cards_limit=3'

It seems that my laptop modem (fujitsu e8110) is not detected by alsa
(tried 2.6.17-rc6 with alsa 1.0.11). lspci output follows:
