I too have a motherboard (ASRock 939NF4G-SATA2) that reports via lspci as an nVidia MCP51 AC97 and using Fedora Core 5 auto installed the snd-intel8x0. I have managed to get sound working a number of times but not sure what the particular sequence needs to be as it stops working and reports as be
