Has anyone recorded using mic2 with intel8x0? If so, am I right about
the required amixer settings (see below).
I'm using alsa 1.0.4 under RedHat 9.
Thanks,
Jason.

Hi
I use a Smartlink 56k soft modem in a 2.6.5 SMP kernel on an ICH4
chipset, with the intel8x0m driver. The modem is on card0, I have
normal alsa sound and oss emulation with card1. Also, the modem
works.
The only problem is that it gives no sound. This section of the
asound.state file is qui

Hello Frans.
http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-doc/index.php3?vendor=vendor-ESS_Technology#matrix
seems to suggest another driver for the solo 1. Maybe you should try
alsaconf to set up your /etc/modules.conf.
It`s defenetily true. Thanks.
I took a look in the driver source - es1938 must support es

Hi there,
I hope this has not been discussed before. I tried the stereo-to-5.1 routing
that is explained in the FAQ. It works but only lasts a few seconds, then
some channels start lagging behind the others which obviously results in
terrible sound. I use a 2.6.4 kernel and my soundcard is a cs

Dear all, I am a newbie with linux and registerd on this list.
I have a problem with my AWE64 SB, it works fine with wav files but not
with midi.
I installed this card on Mandrake 10.0 using the command alsaconf and alsactl
store and all were ok expect midi.
What can I do to resolve this problem

I could enable ALSA debug messages, too. I'm having much to d

Hi,
Personally I think this comes from SB Live users (there is
distortion if volume is higher as 75%).
You can use any volume you want, if sound good and not blow your
speakers.
I have nearly all output volumes at 100% on my Audigy 1.

AFAIK this is not supported in current ALSA for any emu10k1, emu10k2
card (SB Live, Audigy1, Audigy2, Audigy2ZS).
