that it should have hardware mixing (can play multiple
streams at once). I currently have an Edirol UA-5 and
it doens't seem to have hardw

I find that I cannot play back multiple channels. I can
playback single channel audio just fine, but if I try
to playback multi-channel audio, no sound comes out.
The hardward is perfect. I tried channelling the output of
the CD d

02:02.0 Class 0401: 1102:0006
Looks like you have dell version of SB Live which is based on
emu10k1x and not emu10k1. If you can look on main chip on soundcard
there is EMU10K1X.
emu10k1x is not suported by ALSA. New versions of alsa emu10k1
driver will fail to load t

Where do I find information about possible options to the module? Because on
the alsa-doc there isn't any option like "device_mode".

Now that I have successfully gotten programs such as xine to output
digital audio when watching DVDs, etc, I'm now having issues getting ALSA
to output any other audio through the digital channel.
I have nothing plugged into the analog outputs on my SB Live! I would

routed into the alsa-lib API. If you use directly kernel OSS emulatio

KsCD simply instructs your CD drive to start playing. If there isn't
a cable between the analog output of the CD drive and the CD input on
the motherboard, you won't hear anythin
