I need to know about paralell port midi devices as per my last post, but
also please can you tell a newbie how to configure a device. I have a
Hoontech C-Port which works 100% for audio (Thanks Jaraslav!) However,
it has 2 midi inputs (only one works) and two outputs. How can I select
between port

I'm wondering if this could be my problem with the asym setup? It's
appeared in at least one previous CVS alsa-lib release, but I finally
caught it and saved it. This is a warning I get several times while
compiling, but the libs build OK. I just stopped it to be able to save it
this time.
I just upgraded my kernel to 2.6.2-rc2-mm1 to get ALSA 1.0.2; previously
I had ALSA 0.9.7.
Now the sound output seems a lot quieter. I'm using terrible speakers
currently, so master and PCM volumes are at 100%. It's a lot quieter
(inaudible almost) on 1.0.2 than the earlier version.
