Hi,
I'm having trouble compiling alsa-driver-1.0.0rc2 for a fresh linux-2.6.0
SMP kernel on a SuSE 9.0 box.
The modules supplied by the kernel (as of 0.9.7) compiled and loaded
almost fine and sounds as expected. Currently using snd-intell8x0 on a

Real foolish question: patch against what source?
I tried this from inside a fresh vanilla linux-2.6.0:

Greetings all,
when I try to run alsamixer (as root) or alsamixergui (from KDE ) I get the
following error and I can't unmute the sound. Here's the error from
alsamixer;

Is there active development for this device currently? If so can someone
point me in the right direction to try it out.
Thanks

mute/unmute it..
(it took me several days to get this)

Hi,
I installed the 2.6 kernel and I compiled as module the alsa drivers. I also
installed the alsa uitls and alsa libs, version 0.98. I found out that the
drivers that come with the kernel are pretty old, version 0.97.
How can I use the newest alsa drivers?
